Son of John and Hannah Beatrice Bandy; husband of Joyce Irene Bandy, of St. Kilda, Victoria.

Plane was Catalina A24-22. In 20 Squadron.Some of the crew were picked by Matsue Maru and taken to Rabaul.

Whether they remained at Rabaul or continued on is hard to determine
