Died While POW


Pte Wynne Baragwanath, younger son of Mr and Mrs Alex Baragwanath, of the State Savings Bank Richmond, is reported to
have died while a prisoner of war in Borneo on March 19, 1945.

Pte Baragwanath was educated at Scotch College, and was on the staff of North Broken Hill Co Ltd when he enlisted in May, 1940. A member of B Company, 2/29th Battalion, he went to Malaya with the 8th Division  inJuly, 1941. After the fall of Singapore he was sent to Sandakan in
August, 1942.
