Edward Barrett was my Father, fortunately I do remember him and he was a very hands on father which was unusual for those times. He was very interested in first aid and fixed my badly cut leg without a stitch. He was awarded Gold Medal and Bar, St John's Ambulance Service. There was always an interest in the armed forces and was a Cadet and later the Militia. He was a taylor by trade and would make coats for my sister and me. He had auburn hair and of course he was called "Blue". I have missed him every day and tragically my sister doesn't remember him. RIP Dadxx
