Parents: - Walter James Batten and Ada Ethel Cross married 29th March 1912 in Cressy, Tasmania, Australia.
Flight Sergeant Douglas Walter Batten's Squadron 640 was operating from Lissett when his aircraft was lost, he was posted missing on 22nd January 1944. Halifax LW459 is believed to have crashed into the North Sea off Flamborough Head. He was twenty eight years old.
