Walter Havelock BEER was born in Mudgee in NSW on 26th April, 1903
His parents were Arthur Ernest BEER & Mary Jane SMITH who married in Mudgee in 1895
He married Evelyne Isabella NURTHEN in Sydney in 1940
Walter died of Illness in the Sandakan POW Camp in Borneo whilst a prisoner of war of the Japanese

His brother Darcy Septimus BEER (SN 84477) also served in the Army during WW2 and was discharged in 1945
