Son of William Alfred Beeston, and of Grace Singleton Beeston, of Toronto, New South Wales, Australia.

Richard played 1st Grade Hockey, and enjoyed Tennis, Swimming, Open Boat Sailing and Golf.

Air Gunner R. D. Beeston, R.A.A.F.. who spent the week-end on leave in Glen Innes, was on Sunday entertained by fellow members of the Glen Innes District Golf Club. The club president, Dr. R. S.  Irwin, presented A.r Gunner Beeston, on behalf of members, with a pipe and tobacco pouch, and in wishing him success and a speedy and safe return,  referred to the good work Gunner Beeston had carried  out as a member of the committee, and for a period as social secretary. Air Gunner Beeston leaves today to spend the balance of his leave with his parents in Newcastle.
