Frank Allenby BELFORD was born in Gloucester, NSW on 29th November, 1917

His parents were Francis Thomas BELFORD & Gladys Frances CORBETT

He worked as a Plant Nurseryman with the Forestry Commission before he enlisted in the Army

Frank died in Malaya from Illness whilst a prisoner of war of the Japanese and is buried in the Kranji War Cemetery

"He gave his life for the glory of God, in defence of the British Empire"

His father Francis Thomas BELFORD (SN 3106) served during WW1 with the 6th Light Horse Regiment and returned to Australia in 1919

His brother William Noel BELFORD (SN 413945) was a Flight Lieutenant with the 626 Squadron in the RAAF and died on 27th January, 1944
