Went to school at Kings College in 1913 and on to University at Oxford.

Served both WW1 and WW2. 

Wounded twice in first war serving with the Royal Horse Artillery. Served Gallipoli and France.  Lost his left arm. Awarded the Military Cross. Prisoner of war

Joined the Royal Flyng Corps in France with rank of Captain.

Joined RAF in UK despite loss of an arm and was an instructor 1918-1919.

WW2 he was with AIF travelling between UK AUST and Middle East. Rank Lt Col. 1944 at Madang PNG. Killed in plane crash and buried at Lae War Memorial Cemetery.

Enlisted University Squadron ( C Squadron) 1st King Edwards Horse while at Oxford University 1914.

Allocated 1st Troop C Squadron 1914 served with fellow ex students from The Kings School Parramatta Capt Morris Glanville Fielding and Lieut Stanley Freemantle Mort.
