Jack Murray BLAMEY was born in Dulwich Hill, Sydney on 17th January, 1914

His parents were James Cardell BLAMEY & Emily Clara HENNINGHAM who married in Sydney in 1908

He served in the Middle East, Greece & New Guinea and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (USA)

Jack died of wounds in Papua New Guinea on 26th November, 1942 - he was first buried in the Soputa War Cemetery (F A 5) and reinterred in the Bomana War Cemetery

Inscription:  HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS COUNTRY
