Son of Edward James Bourke and Essie Amelia Bourke, of Belmore, New South Wales.

HIS DUTY FEARLESSLY AND NOBLY DONE EVER REMEMBERED BY EVERYONE

Private E.J. ("Ned") Bourke, 26th Battalion has been reported killed in action at Bougainville in the Solomon Islands.  Private Bourke is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Bourke, 12 Moncur Ave., Blemore.  He was formerly employed by the Forsyth Ropeworks and had been in the A.I.F. for two and a half years.
