GOD BE WITH YOU TILL WE MEET AGAIN
D.F.M. to Sergeant Edward Keith Forbes Brasher, 26, of Brisbane, a member of a R.A.A.F. bomber squadron in Britain. One night in August Brasher was captain of an aircraft which attacked Dusseldorf. Some miles from the target his aircraft was also attacked by hostile fighters, and suffered damage to the tail plane. Despite this. Brasher pressed on and ombed his objective. Shortly after leaving the target, area the aircraft was attacked by a Junkers 88, and was again dam aged and the wireless operator wounded. Brasher enabled therear gunner to fire an effective burst which caused the Junkers to become enveloped in flames. Brasher then flew his damaged aircraft to its base. 'Throughout he displayed great courage and determination,' the citation said.
