KILLED IN ACTION
Bombardier Francis Cedric Brock, previously reported died of wounds, is now reported killed in action at Balikpapan on July 30.  The elder son of Mr and Mrs C. H. Brock, Banksia st, Heidelberg, he was aged 23, and enlisted in June, 1940. He was wounded in Syria in 1941, and later served in New Guinea. He was educated at Heidelberg state school and Ivanhoe Grammar School. At the time of enlistment he was on the staff of Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd. His brother Ian is now serving in Borneo.

Biography

"...VX29801 Bombardier Francis Cedric (Frank) Brock, 2/4 Field Regiment. A clerk from Ivanhoe, Vic, Brock enlisted on 28 June 1940. He was wounded in action in July 1941. On 10 July 1945 at Balikpapan, Borneo, Bdr Brock took charge of his troop following the wounding of his captain.
