Plane was Lancaster FD 874. Target was St Pierre du Mont, Calvados. Plane was shot down after bombing the target. 1 crewman managed to parachute to safety the remaining crew were lost with the plane when they were unable to parachute out in time

Son of Dr. Charles Leslie Burgess and Dulcie Marcelle Burgess, of Vaucluse, New South Wales, Australia.
