Hugh Joseph Whittaker CHALMERS was born on 24th March, 1913 in Drummoyne, Sydney, NSW
His parents were Hugh CHALMERS and Clara CRONSHAW who were married in 1903 in Sydey
He married Thelma TURNER in 1935 in Sydney
On 27th July, 1942 he enlisted with HQ 6, Australian Division as a Captain -Service No NX101640. He had previously joined the CMF Service No. N58702
