John Winzar COMPTON was born in Gayndah, Queensland on 12th March, 1913
His parents were Charles Christopher COMPTON & Enid Maud Murray WILSON who married in Queensland on 12th October, 1910

His brother Christopher Moore COMPTON (SN QX 44605) & (SN X119719) also served in the Army as Lieutenant Colonel (Army Chaplain) and was discharged on 16th June, 1945
