Son of Charles Edward and Edith Sarah CORNISH nee WHITAKER, of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
EVER REMEMBERED
His mother died when he was five years old from illness a few weeks after the birth of his baby brother Charles. His father had deserted the family leaving them destitute. Milton and his baby brother were place in Parkerville Home and not long after his baby brother died there aged eight months.
He attended The Working Men's College Inc/The Melbourne Technical School for two years for tuition in motor mechanics. He spent several years in Victoria truck driving and general jobbing in mechanic.
Leading Aircraftsman in RAAF- qualified as a fitter. He was captured at Java and died of Malaria whilst Prisoner of War.
His father Charles Edward Cornish enlisted in 2nd Pioneer Battalion WW1 but eventually discharged due to mental illness.
Milton was survived by his father and sister Dorothy.
