His parents were James Paul Gee COX & Kathleen Isobel PHILPS who married in Sydney in 1915
He married Alwynne Theodora STEPHENS in Sydney in 1940 - daughter Susan Amanda

His father James Paul Gee COX served as a Lieutenant during WW1 with the 14th Light Horse Regiment and died on 19th September, 1918

Flight Lieutenant Cox 260706 (706) of 75SQN RAAF was killed when Kittyhawk A29-47 was shot down near Port Moresby, New Guinea intercepting a force of Japanese bombers with fighter escort - his body was not recovered and he is commemorated on the Port Moresby Memorial
The Commanding Officer of 75SQN - Squadron Leader John Francis Jackson 493 DFC, MID - was also killed in this action while flying Kittyhawk A29-8
