Douglas Charles CROSTHWAITE was born in Rockhampton, Queensland on 5th May, 1919
His parents were Alfred Charles CROSTHWAITE & Clara Ivy CARLOS who married in Queensland on 30th December, 1918
Before enlisting in the RAAF he served from April, 1940 to September, 1941 as a Sergeant in the 42nd Infantry Battalion
Douglas died in a Flying Battle in Belgium on 9th May, 1944
