Russell DEVENISH-MEARES was born in Ashfield, NSW on 1st October, 1910
His parents were Charles Edward DEVENISH-MEARES & Mary Anna BROWN who married in Sydney on 18th March, 1908
He married Nellie Constance CRAGO in the Congregational Church in Burwood, Sydney on 30th April 1938
Russell died in a Flying Battle in Norway on 9th December 1941 -no known grave
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Runnymede Memorial
His last rank was Pilot Officer in the No. 42 Squadron of the RAF
