Daughter of Horace Stanley Dickson and May Irene Dickson, of North Sydney.
Gwen Dickson worked as a Ledgerkeeper in Sydney before enlisting in the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force on 8 July 1943, aged 18. After recruit drill course she trained as a Telegraphist and was posted to RAAF Station Tocumwal on 16 October 1944.
On the evening of 20 January 1946 Gwen became ill and was admitted to 5 RAAF Hospital Tocumwal. She was given medication and sent back to her living quarters, shortly after the medical officer was called to her room and Aircraftwoman Dickson was found dead. The cause of her death was not determined.
DICKSON. - January 20, 1946, suddenly, at Tocumwal R.A.A.F. Hospital, Gwen, aged 20 years, beloved daughter of Horace and Effie Dickson, of 55a E. Crescent Street, North Sydney, and loving sister of Tom, loved granddaughter of Mrs, J. A. Dickson, Lancaster Road, Rose Bay.
