Norris William Bennett DIKE was born in Carlton, Victoria on 17th January, 1911

His parents were Edwar Henry DIKE & Ada BENNETT who married in St Marks Church in Victoria on 6th June 1906

He married Ivy Gladys McLEAY in 1934 - one son Barry

His father Edward Henry DIKE served as a Quartermaster &  Honorary Lieutenant during WW1 in the 3rd Pioneer Battalion and returned to Australia on 15th September, 1919 - he was awarded the OBE and was Mentioned in dispatches

He also served during WW2 (SN V38018) as a Captain in the 29th Infantry Battalion and was discharged on 25th March, 1942 & died on 18th February, 1944
