Norman Frederick Haige was born on 7 September 1917 in Williamstown, Victoria, Australia. The son of Charlotte and Norman Dixon. He had three sisters. Norman Joined the Royal Australian Navy on 28 Augst 1939 where he obtained the rank of Able seaman, he was placed onto the HMAS PERTH. Sadly he was killed in action at The, Battle of Sunda Strait on, 1 March 1942 at the age of 24, and was lost at sea.
