Sub-Lieutenant Alexander V. Eagar, 24, is a son of Captain K. F. Eagar (tug superintendent for Macdonald, Hamilton, and Co.,  Brisbane) and Mrs. Eagar. He joined the Navy before the war started. He had been in the Sydney for two months.
