"MRS. R. EDWARDS
Mrs. Rita Edwards, member of the W.A.A.A.F., was injured in a motor accident in Wagga on Ootober 13 and died in a military hospital. Aged 28 A.C.W. Edwards was the daughter of Mrs. A. M. Player, of Sydney, and Mr. J. Player of Newcastle. Her husband, Pte. Charles Edwards, is a prisoner of war in Malaya. Deceased is survived by three brothers, Frank (A.I.F.), Victor (Sydney), and Bill (Newcastle)." - from the Newcastle Morning Herald and Miners' Advocate 22 Dec 1944 (nla.gov.au)
