PTE. P. E. N. EWING DIES
OF WOUNDS
CHILDERS. July 31.— Advice was received by his father this afternoon that Private Percy Ernest Neil Ewing, youngest son of Mr. William Ewing, Apple Tree Creek, had died of wounds on July 3. The late Pte. Ewing, who was 29 years of age enlisted in July, 1940, and left for overseas in March 1941. He was a brilliant scholar and was dux of the Childers High School Leaving school, he joined the National Bank of Australia Ltd. and was stationed at Bundaberg, Eidsvold, Milimerran and Goondiwindi before being transferred to the inspection branch of the bank at Brisbane. He is survived by two sisters, Sister Audrey Ewin, (General Hospital, Maryborough and Mrs. J. McAdam (Warra) and one brother, Mr. W. Ewing (Proserpine).
