Harris John (Harry) Fagan was born 5 Feb 16 in Coonamble NSW. One of six brothers and 1 sister.
Enlisted in 2/2 Machine Gun Battalion on 14 June 1940 then after training in Australia and embarkation to the Middle East was transferred on application to 2/25 Field Park Company, 7th Division Engineers to serve with his brother, NX32094 Sapper Michael Douglas Fagan. Both brothers returned to Australia in 1941 to retrain and re equip then fought in New Guinea. Both brothers were affected by Malaria and were hospitalised at different times. After recovering from one bout of malaria Harry joined 2/6 Field Park Company as a reinforcement and drowned in the Markham River Valley on 4 Sep 43 during the advance on Lae. He is buried in the Lae War Cemetery. RIP
