Alistair Mackenzie FINNIE was born in Brighton, Victoria on 3rd February, 1922

His parents were Charles Augustus FINNIE & Helen Jane Bannerman MACKENZIE

He enlisted in Melbourne as an Air Cadet with the RAAF on 29th March, 1941

Alistair died in a Flying Battle in the English Channel as a Pilot Officer in a Spitfire MH730 whilst serving with the 602 Squadron of the RAF on 18th October, 1943 - his body was never recovered

His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Runnymede Memorial in Surrey, UK
