Son of Valentine Patrick James Fittler and Gertrude Pearl Elizabeth Fittler, of Clermont, Queensland.

Parents- Valentine Patrick James Fittler married Gertrude Pearl Elizabeth Bennett in Singleton, New South Wales, in 1909. Allen was the third born son.
