Noel Wilkinson GADSDEN was born in Melbourne, VIctoria, on 1 November 1924. He was educated at Carey Grammar School KEW, a SE suburb of Melbourne.
Enlisting in the RAAF in June 1942, Flt Sgt Noel GADSDEN trained as an Air Gunner under the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS) in Canada and England, and was later posted to 625 Squadron RAF operating Lancaster bombers.
On the night of 12/13 August 1944, Flt Sgt GADSDEN's Lancaster, serial number ME733, radio call sign CF-Z, was shot down and crashed at Hollenstein, Germany after a raid over Brunswick Germany. He was killed alongside his six other crew members in the wreckage of their aircraft. He was 19yo.
