Standish O'Grady HALY was born on 25th January, 1916 in Toowong, Queensland

His parents were Arthur HALY and Doris Christabel DE WINTON

He enlisted in Claremont, Western Australia on 3rd July, 1941 with the 2nd/4th Machine Gun Battalion

Standish died of Malaria at Sandala Estate near Sandakan, Borneo on 15th June, 1945 & is buried in Labuan War Cemetery - he was in the Selarang Camp as a Prisoner of War of the Japanese

The inscription on his headstone reads:

"I THANK MY GOD UPON EVERY REMEMBRANCE OF YOU"
