Born in Perth on 14 Oct 1914 Arthur's parents were Richard Lupton and Laura Agnes Hargreaves.
Arthur was living and working in Margaret River when he traveled to Claremont in Perth to enlist on 01 Oct 1941.
Arthur listed Jean Bardwell as his next of kin.
Arthur was presumed killed in action on 11 Feb 1942 fighting in MAlaya and is remembered on the Singapore Memorial Column 136
