Flying Officer Timothy Felix Hayes 426223 and Flight Sergeant Laurence Michael Devitt 10424 of 12SQN RAAF were killed when Vultee Vengeance A27-209 crashed near Merauke, New Guinea
Their bodies were not recovered and they are commemorated on the Lae Memorial
