Bruce Pitcairn HEDDERWICK was born in Kew, Victoria on 7th December, 1916

His parents were Bruce Pitcairn HEDDERWICK & Alice Catherine BARRY

He enlisted in the Army on 3rd July, 1940 and was a Private with the 2nd/21st Infantry Battalion

He died on 21st June, 1945 from Illness (Beri Beri) while a prisoner of war in Ambon and is buried in the Ambon War Cemetery

His brother Peter John HEDDERWICK (SN 401950) who was a Flight Lieutenant in the RAAF also lost his life in WW2 during air operations over Italy on 8th February, 1945
