Know William HEGGATON was born in Murrumburrah, NSW on 11th March, 1911 although he stated it was 1914 on his application to serve in the RAAF
His parents were Rupert Dufty HEGGATON & Elizabeth Louisa BURGESS who married in St Andrews Cathedral,Sydney on 11th March, 1902
He served for 3 years in the 21st Light Horse Regiment before enlisting in the RAAF embarking from Sydney on 28th December, 1940 for Canada & the United Kingdom
Know died in a Flying Battle in the North Sea, Atlantic Ocean on 11th May, 1942

His father Rupert Dufty HEGGATON was a Captain in WW1 and discharged on 3rd October, 1917
His brother Vaudan Dufty HEGGATON (SN NX68823) died from illness as a prisoner of war in Burma on 27th October, 1942
