ALL HONOUR TO THE BRAVE... EVER REMEMBERED BY HIS LOVED ONES
Mr and Mrs George Henry, of Glendale, Loch, have been notified that their son, Cpl John Campbell (Cam) Henry, was killed in action in New Guinea on December 6, 2 days before his 26th birthday. He was educated at Nyora SS and Scotch College, and after leaving school assisted on his father's property, where he managed his own pure Jersey stud. He had a farm of his own at Poowong, run on the share system.
Cpl Henry was keenly interested in public affairs, and at the age of 19 was made a director of the Poowong Hall Company. He joined the Militia before war began, and later transferred to the AIF. He was engaged to Miss Laura Douglas, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. K. Douglas, of Poowong.
