MAN DIES FROM ELECTRIC
SHOCK
AT AIR STATION
L.A.C. Arthur Bruce Hobson, flight-rigger, aged 19 years, son of Mr A. E. Hobson, of 180 Homebush Road, Strathfield, on Monday, died as the result of an electric shock received while on duty at the Deniliquin Air School. Members of the Deniliquin Ambulance were quickly on the scene, and with the assistance of Air School personnel applied artificial respiration to deceased until the ambulance conveyed him to the Deniliquin hospital where Hobson was placedin the iron lung. However, the efforts were without avail. Hobson, who was engaged checking parked aircraft and intiating tyres, switched on an, air compressor and was running the cable threw him hands from the switchboard to the engine, when he suddenly threw up his hands and on examination of the cable showed that the insulation was broken about four feet from, the motor, and the wire caused the electric current to enter the body.
Deceased came to Deniliquin only a few days ago from Tocumwal Air Station.
The funeral took place at the Deniliquin War Cemetery this morning. The funeral left S. Paul's Church of England for the Deniliquin War Cemetery this morning. Friends and members, of the Air Force acted as coffin and pall-bearers.
