21 Oct 1941: Wounded Australian Army (Post WW2), Lance Corporal, VX47991, 2nd/24th Infantry Battalion, Siege of Tobruk, Denis was one of 20 men swept off the deck of HMAS Nizam when the ship was taking evasive action during evacuation of troops from Torbuk. Others persihed and were not recovered but Denis was rescued but died of serious wounds later that day in Alexandria.
