Corporal Vincent Jack Edwin Jarvis 300047 was killed when his vehicle (a Wireless / Telegraph tender) accidentally drove into German positions between Bardia & Tobruk during a sandstorm

The vehicle was travelling from Gambut airfield to Tobruk to assist with maintenance of Wireless / Telegraphic equipment in use with AIF artillery batteries around Tobruk

LAC John Parr 255713 (205847) became a Prisoner of War in this incident; he survived the war and was discharged in January 1946 with the rank of Flight Lieutenant
