REJOICE WITH HIM IN DUTY DONE HIS LIFE IS LOST HIS CAUSE GOES ON
The many friends of Gunner John Mander Jones will be sorry to hear of his death as the result of wounds received in Malaya during February. Although only a young man, Gunner Jones had already made his mark as a successful grazier in the Burnett district. Third son of the late Llewellyn Mander Jones and Mrs. K. Mander Jones, of Boonara, Goomeri, Gunner Jones was educated at the Southport School, and when he enlisted, in 1940, owned Melrose station, Wondai.
Gunner John Mander Jones, third son of Mrs. K. M. Jones, of Boonara, Goomeri, and the late Mr. L. M. Jones, has now been reported dead from wounds received in Malaya. He owned Melrose station, Wondai, and had achieved success as a grazier in the Burnett district before he enlisted in 1940.
