News has been received that LAC Brian Ladyman, of Broomehill, lost his life as the result of an aircraft accident near Lady Julia Percy Island, Victoria, on February 15 of this year. For five years prior to his joining the RAAF, Lodyman, was a student at Wesley College and in 1942 was a prefect. While at Wesley College he distinguished himself as a tennis player and in tennis circles was claimed to be one
of the State's most promising juniors In 1941 and 1942 he captained the College's Slazenger Cup tennis team and in those same years won the Schoolboys' Open Singles championship. For several years he was a member of the King's Park Tennis Club and in 1942 won the Spring Junior Boys' Singles Championship and wirh Miss Shirley Harrold was runner-up in the Junior Mixed Doubles Championship. Brian, who was 19 years old, is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Ladyman, of Broomehill. He has an older brother serving with on Armoured Regiment and a married sister at Katanning.
