James Law was born in New South Wales in 1915. He was the son of Mark and Violet Law. Jim was known worked as a casual labourer. He lived with his parents in Corrimal in the Illawarra district, not far from the beach.

Jim was one of the famous "Rats of Tobruk" but he was K.I.A. Jim and his comrades saw heavy fighting during the Seige of Tobruk. Lest We Forget.
