Son of Phillip Sullivan and Bridget Sullivan nee Fogarty of Strathmerton, Victoria. Brother of Margaret Ann Sullivan, Mary Sullivan and Daniel Francis Sullivan who was killed in action on 2 September 1918 while serving with the 24th Battalion and was buried in the Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension.
