His mother was Maud Emily Alice LEADBITTER - no Fathers name listed - she died in 1931 aged 37 (Stephney)

He was sent to Australia as an orphan to the Kingsley Fairbridge Farm School in Western Australia & arrived in Fremantle on 23rd August, 1932 on the ship Oronsay

He married Winifred PURCHER in Perth, Western Australia in 1941
