Peter Denning Charles LEGGE-WILKINSON was born on 1st December, 1921 Bulawayo, Zimbabwe - he also stated on another record that he was born on the same date in St Kilda, Victoria

He was also known as Peter Francis VAUGHAN and served under that name - exact place of birth unknown but very likely Zimbabwe where his sister was also born

His parents were Leonard Charles LEGGE-WILKINSON & Jacinta Maria THORNTON

He first joined the CMF on 2nd July, 1941 (SN V39958) and transferred to the 2nd/21st Infantry Battalion on 19th December, 1941 (SN VX69024)

He was taken as a Prisoner of War by the Japanese & his death was presumted 20th February, 1942 - no known grave - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Ambon Memorial

His Father, Leonard Charles LEGGE-WILKINSON also served in the Australian Army during WW2 (SN V91029) and was discharged on 20th February, 1941 - 9 Garrison Battalion
