RAAF Beaufort aircraft A9-541 of Number 1 Squadron was shot down during an attack on Penfoie, Dutch Timor - Beaufort A9-509 was lost on the same mission. All of the crew of A9-541 were killed and are commemorated on the Northern Territory Memorial to the Missing located at Adelaide River War Cemetery, NT -
