Sergeant John James Manderson 401708 was killed when Kittyhawk AL182 of 3 Squadron RAAF / 250 Squadron RAF lost power on a training flight and crashed on approach to the runway at Landing Ground 222 which was situated near the Cairo to Fayoum (El Faiyum) Road in Egypt
