Richard Willoughby MASON was born in Chatswood, Sydney on 24th April, 1905
His parents were John Norbert MASON & Charlotte Mary LONG who married in Sydney in 1896
He married Beatrice Valmai JENKINS at St Marks Church, Darling Point, Sydney on 5th April, 1934
Richard enlisted in the Australian Army on 30th October, 1942 - his last Rank was Captain with the 2nd Tank Battalion, Austraian Armoured Corps
He died of injuries due to a gun shot wound on 3rd April, 1944 in Dangar Cottage Hospital in Singleton, NSW and was cremated at the Beresfield Crematorium in Newcastle
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Kur-ing-gai World War 2 Book of Remembrance
