Son of Ludovic George Houston McCREDIE and Anne Elizabeth McCREDIE nee LUKEMAN, of Chatswood, New South Wales, Australia.

Become a prisoner of war after the sinking of HMAS Perth in the Battle of Sunda Strait 1 March 1942. He was on the "hell-ship "Moji Maru in a small convoy with Nichimei Maru when the convoy was bombed by US bombers. He was killed 15 January 1943 along with about eleven other Australian POW. He was one of the two killed who had survived the sinking of HMAS Perth.
Died of abdominal wounds substained in bombing.
Originally buried at No 1 Grave, French Mission Cemetery, Moulmein, Burma. Later his remains were relocated to the Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery.
He was survived by his parents, sisters Betty and Nancy, brother Maxwell.
