STILL OUR HARRY
Henry Elvin McDonough has been reported a prisoner of war. Only news his parents had of him after February, 1942, until a recent official telegram was one unofficial message. Before the war McDonough played tennis with the South Suburban Association baseball with Victoria Park and the Hawks. As a member of the Mt. Hawthorn Athletic Club he won a javelin championship. At one time he raced as an amateur cyclist. Before enlisting he worked for the Broadway boot repairers. Henry Elvin McDonough is the youngest son of Mr Joe and the Reverend Maud McDonough, of Beechboro.
His mother is the minister of the Progressive Spiritualists Church, his father was once regarded as the best professional runner in the State, was scratch man for five or six years. McDonough's two elder brothers are also in the services.
