A.B. Wallace McDougall was aged 23 and a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. McDougall, Ranelagh, Huon. He joined the Navy when 16½ years of age. Later he was sent to England to take the course as a submarine detector operator. He served in H.M.S. Havoc, taking part in the battles of Narvik and Dunkirk, and later being sent to the Mediterranean. The Havoc was sent in to deal the last blows at the Bartolomeo Colleoni. A.B. McDougall was then transferred to H.M.A.S. Sydney. He was married in New South Wales four months ago, and consequently was not listed as a Tasmanian.
